Sounds from Japan

Colectivo Bunka presents this initiative to promote and disseminate the Asian and Japanese music in Colombia and Latin America through the bands live performances.

This musical trend is embracing audiences interested in Asian music and culture, especially the Japanese (J-music), which seeks to present live bands or bands that influenced Japan's sound in recent months has generated appearance of small concentrations of J-music consumers and music groups across and throughout Latin America, especially Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Peru and Argentina.

In Colombia, J-music movement is germinating since 2006 in cities like Bogota, Medellin, Cali and Ibague, which has raised the need to build a consolidated scene for the promotion and mass distribution of J-music. Therefore, Colectivo Bunka has organized and produced through strategic alliances three versions of Sounds From Japan projects (Ibague, 2009, Medellin and Bogota 2010) in pursuance of this objective. This is intended to make audiences dynamics, germination and strengthening of related musical groups that are committed to the consolidation of Eastern music spaces, art exhibitions and musical gatherings of supporters (mostly young) to the foundation of the J-Music and other current Asian continent.
